According to the education sector, the use of teachers` contracts gained popularity in the 1960s and 1970s to improve teachers` working conditions. Teacher contracts are legally binding agreements between the school district and the teacher. All these discussions do not mean that you will not be able to change jobs, even if you are contractually obligated in a district. Discussion means that you need to know the policies of your school district committee and be able to apply them to your situation so that you can be legally and adequately exempt from this contract and be able to move on to the new position you so desire. This is understandable as teachers are responsible for teaching learners the beliefs, attitudes and ethics of society, as well as information, advice and wisdom, and facilitating learners` acquisition of the key knowledge, attitudes and behaviours they need to be active in society and the economy.
