When a crisis occurs and people who cannot afford a lawyer face legal problems due to job loss, illness or unfair denial of benefits, they often don`t know where to turn or where to get legal advice. These people often get lost in the justice system, thwarted by unknown procedures and confusing processes and documents. The chances of success are greatly increased if you have a lawyer by your side. We are proud of the positive results we can achieve for our customers. Hudson Valley Legal Services` commitment to racial justice has always been a common thread running through our work. The pressure on our country and the world due to COVID-19 seems relentless. Add to that the pain of the last few weeks since the blatant murder of George Floyd and countless other black and brown people, and too many people in our communities are suffering and traumatic. As a legal service provider, we fight for equal justice for all. LSHV remains steadfast in its anti-racist commitment as we actively work for justice by providing services to those in need, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation or gender.
We will continue to work in our communities and with our partners to reduce the injustices of systemic racism. We hope you will join us as we continue this fight. The availability of legal advice will enable ESS to achieve its objectives of minimizing liabilities and risks while ensuring the organization`s compliance with applicable laws. These objectives are primarily achieved by providing legal advice and support to management and staff on various issues that may impact OHS. All ESS legal services are accessible through the Legal Functions Network. The ESS was launched in 2006 to provide solutions to school problems that involved legal support but did not depend on it. In providing legal services to their clients, AALRR lawyers identified gaps in school districts` operational issues. For some, information that would be useful to the district was not available. Some districts required specific professional development for staff, boards and administrators. Some would benefit greatly from real practical help due to vacancies or sudden workloads leading to tensions and backlogs. Some needed help recruiting executives. Thanks to its extensive network, the company has been able to identify specific professionals with proven skills in various areas of need.
With them, the firm could provide advisory expertise that, under the supervision of the law firm, could meet the district`s need for long-term solutions. As a result, ESS was formalized as a non-legal team working with AALRR`s Education Law Practice Groups. These consultants act as “first responders” in management crises on serious school issues or valuable intellectual and pragmatic resources, coaches and problem solvers who help ensure effective school management in these complicated times. The legal function and personnel within the SSE organization are decentralized and distributed in different sub-projects/departments. Staff shall cooperate with regard to the legal services provided to the ESS through the network of legal functions in order to enable the ESS to achieve its objectives and act in accordance with the law.
